Further to our recent Fuel Surcharge Update issued on 7 September 2026, we would like to provide an important update regarding fuel-related transport costs.

As communicated previously, Pioneer Freight introduced a 15% fuel surcharge on 1 May 2026 in response to the unprecedented increase in diesel prices and the ongoing volatility in the fuel market. At that time, we committed to absorbing as much of the additional cost burden as possible while continuing to provide the high level of service and reliability our clients have come to expect.

Unfortunately, diesel prices have continued to rise significantly since then and are forecast to increase yet again in October 2026. Despite our efforts to absorb these escalating costs over recent months, the extent of the increase has now reached a level where it is no longer sustainable for us to continue doing so without impacting the long term viability of our transport operations.

After careful consideration, and only as a last resort, Pioneer Freight will be adjusting its fuel surcharge from 15% to 20%, effective 1 October 2026.

This adjustment is not a decision we have taken lightly. We fully appreciate the financial pressures that businesses across all sectors continue to face and have deliberately delayed any increase for as long as possible. However, with fuel costs remaining substantially above the levels on which the original surcharge was based, this revision has become necessary to ensure that we can continue providing the dependable service, fleet capacity, and operational support upon which our clients rely.

We remain committed to regularly reviewing fuel price movements and will continue to apply a fair and transparent approach to fuel surcharge management. Should market conditions improve, we will reassess the surcharge accordingly.
