In the highly competitive world of film forwarding, experience and a good reputation of always being time for deliveries are what matters most. So, what makes Pioneer Freight one of the preferred freight agents…
Pioneer Freight began handling work for the film industry some 20 years ago, when the industry was very small in South Africa. At that stage there were only a handful of rental and production companies in the country. Over a very short space of time, South Africa became the hot spot for shooting commercials and feature films. At that stage filming was shot on 35mm film and usually needed to be sent overseas via overnight courier. We mastered this and at that stage were the only freight company in the country who could offer an overnight courier to the US, UK and most European countries.
With no two years being the same in terms of shipments, we still handle vast number of commercials and feature films. Our involvement will be anything from bringing in product, wardrobe, camera equipment through to courier of hard drives from SA to an overseas destination. With Pioneer Freight being a one-stop-shop, we have the infrastructure to effectively handle anything freight / courier related, which really suits the industry.
“Over the years we have built up an incredible partnership with global freight agents, who themselves are aligned to the film industry within their respective countries which has been a huge benefit to all parties. With our years of experience handling freight for the industry, we have learnt to understand the film industry in terms of urgency and delicacy of all freight / courier shipments that we handle. The industry has grown in leaps and bounds, and today is a huge source of income for the country. We are extremely proud to be a part of an industry where people work extremely hard and the rewards are very fulfilling” says Ryan Burgess, director of Pioneer Freight.
