Dear valued client,
We have recently received written communication from SARS re-iterating the need for registered entities to indicate their VAT registration number on all customs declarations submitted to SARS.
Attached communique dd. 8th May 2023 included for your guidance.

Note that all declarations would be monitored for a 30-day period after which a further directive would be received.
This week, we have noted that SARS are including the below cautionary message with their EDI responses:
We therefore appeal to all our valued clients to ensure that should there be any amendments to your VAT Registration number, to please provide us with this confirmation (I.e., the SARS letter, confirming same) in order that we may ensure our database is updated so as to ensure that we submit the true and correct information, at the outset.
