Transporting...

If you find yourself in Cape Town or Durban in the next few weeks, you may be faced with a few road closures owing to film and production teams shooting a few movie and commercial scenes. This as the news has reported that Mission Impossible 8, is one of the international blockbusters, among other feature films, is being shot in our beautiful country.

We anticipate a continued increase in international travel, with many carriers resuming their passenger flights into South Africa and/or extending their services to (once again) include South Africa, and in particular, increased capacity / flights to Cape Town and Durban. This, in turn, is very good news for our air freight import and export clients as more airline options become available.

Confirming this, Willie Walsh, IATA Director General, had the following to share with the press;
“…so it’s been very good through the year – and that’s not to say we’re pessimistic about cargo in 2022. Quite the opposite, in fact we’re optimistic. But we are at a significant high.

We ended the year generally in better shape than we started the year going into 2022, but more and more governments are, I think, reviewing those restrictions. And we’re pleased to see that some – if not all of those – are beginning to be relaxed or removed. And I think that’s a positive indication for the industry in terms of what’s likely to happen with short-term bookings.

We are excited for the many opportunities that this is going to hold for our Economy and, with that, the opportunities that await our long-standing and loyal Film and Advertisement clients.
