As per a report published by Transnet dd. 24/10/2023 the reason for the current and excessive delays being experienced at all ports within South Africa, is quoted as follows: “lack of equipment has negatively impacted terminal productivity. Other factors, such as poor weather, had also exacerbated the delays. In addition, delays in one terminal were creating further congestion in the complimentary terminal network within South Africa”
