With the lifting of the curfew, we trust that this is the beginning of the end, where our economy can open up 100 % and business can return to normal, albeit under the “new normal” conditions.
For the remainder of 2022, who knows what lies ahead and where the roads within this ever-changing industry will lead. At Pioneer Freight, we commit to staying abreast with these changes and as always to seek the most competitive pricing matched with the quickest possible service for both air & sea freight.
For our clients who import from China, we hit the ground running for 2022 ahead of the Chinese New Year celebrations (1 Feb – 15 Feb), requiring that we plan and negotiate our way around the increased demand for space (both air and sea) where carriers then also tend to capitalise on this by way of increasing their rates.
With the Beijing Winter Olympics falling over the same period (4 Feb – 20 Feb), we may encounter additional restrictions on cargo movements (in particular hazardous cargo) once the suppliers have re-opened.
As always, we will endeavour to clearly communicate these challenges as and when they happen and find the best solutions for our valued clients.
